The Under-Shepherd · Holyway Baptist Church, Okeho
Under the leadership of Rev’d & Mrs. Samuel Mary Olanrewaju (JP), Holyway Baptist Church continues to grow as a vibrant sanctuary of faith, worship, and community service. Their passion is to see every believer grounded in the Word and walking in the fullness of God’s purpose.
The pastor’s ministry is characterised by deep biblical teaching, fervent prayer, and a genuine love for souls. Together with his wife, they lead by example — modelling a life of holiness, service, and devotion.
As God will have it, the move by the First Baptist Church, Ayetoro-Oke to establish one of her branches in Okeho was initiated by the Minister in charge, Rev’d Dr James A. Ojediran, at a monthly Church Council meeting on 22nd February, 2014. This move was readily embraced to ameliorate the plights of members in Okeho who had to travel to Ayetoro-Oke for worship. The first Sunday service started under Late Pa Aborode’s House in Egbeda Area.
11 May 2014
Inspiration Service & Church Naming
The inspiration service was held at the church’s temporary site (made of planks), led by Rev’d James Ademola Ojediran. Love and unity were emphasised in his sermon. The church was named Holyway Baptist Church after much prayer under the direction of the Holy Spirit, rather than “Peace Way Baptist Church” as earlier agreed. Mr Thomas Olanrewaju Babatunde was appointed as the Church Leader.
